One of those conditional sorts of questions. Defiant, if I’m not inclined to be greedy. Bird of prey if I intend to bring more people along and generically be a dick, and star destroyer if I actually somehow have enough Outbound Flight-style slave rig equipment to run it and have some conquering to do.

Hard to tell, is there an Excelsior in that mix?

This is my meager collection. Iwas hoping to catch this years ship on discount after Christmas but no such luck. Since I haven’t gotten to watch the series I didn’t feel like I had to have it.

I’d like to find a Borg Cube, an Enterprise-B and E, and a replacement for my Bird of Prey that was broken by my son when he was little.

Tough...

I’m having a hard time deciding between three.

1) NCC-1701-D from All Good Things... (three nacelles, extensive addition of weapons)

2) NCC-1701-E

3) Klingon Bird of Prey

Other potentials:

4) Borg Cube (not really comfortable, but enormous, fast, and very effective weapons)

5) Imperial Star Destroyer

Let’s face it, you’ll want to go exploring in deep space in this ship. You want it to be big, comfortable, fast, to have some area to entertain yourself during long trips, capable of defending itself (almost certainly just against orbiting objects, but that’s important), with massive energy production, etc. The bonus of the Star Trek universe is the replicators and transporters. The bonus to the Star Wars universe is that the ships are enormous.

Borg cube- it’s the AMG G-wagen of interstellar travel. Over-engineered for what it is used for, too reliable to be a Range Rover, too fast to be a Unimog, designed with a pencil and ruler.

Star destroyers are like a lifted brodozer with unnecessary KC lights on the roof. Looks tough but can’t go off road (like into an asteroid field).

The Enterprise- a Polestar Volvo or Audi RS6 wagon. It’s understated and sophisticated but will smoke your brother-in-law’s camero.

Excelsior- if the Enterprise is an Audi or Volvo, the Excelsior must be a Jaguar. Self-explanatory I think.

The Bird of Prey is a 1980’s sports car (Corvette, 944, Skyline, whatever). Looks cool but can’t really compete with the more technologically advanced stuff.

You have to remember that in the original series, the Klingons were the slimy race without honor while the Romulans originally modeled the honorable warrior as in Balance of Terror. But the Romulans first had the cloaking device. Any government would be stupid not to use such a system if they could get it. It’s got nothing to do with honor.

Fun fact - the initial design of the Reliant is inverted. When WoK’s producer looked at it, he didn’t realize he was looking at the blueprint upside down. He signed off on what he thought was the bottom, and the design artist decided to roll with the mistake.

I must be the only TOS fan who prefers the big screen Constitution ships over their small screen predecessors. I don’t know what it is exactly, but the V-shaped beams that hold the nacelles, the blue deflector dish, even the finer details on the saucer...I’m some kind of TOS heretic.

The E has a smaller looking saucer section, but I don’t know about overall square footage of space inside. I don’t know if the extra nacelle on the D made it faster at top speed, warp physics being what it is, but maybe it accelerated faster? I think you couldn’t go wrong with either.

We have fake too, but when a string goes out on our previous pre-lit trees, we found it near impossible to swap in a working one. So we went with a naked tree this time and string our own. It’s more work, but we end up putting more lights on it.
